where can I find your products?

we are working hard at getting products back in stock and on the shelves at our retail partners. we don’t have a specific date but our teams in our soap factory are upping production and focusing on certain products including; hand wash, antibac spray, and all purpose cleaners to fulfill orders. we appreciate your patience. stay safe + clean.

no. we don’t make specific claims regarding COVID-19. however, our hand soap is great to use as part of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines of washing your hands (often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing).

for more advice from the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on how to help prevent illness, go to:

method antibac spray is formulated to kill 99.9% of household germs, including influenza A flu virus, staphylococcus aureus, rhinovirus, salmonella enterica, on hard, non-porous surface.

method antibac toilet bowl cleaner is formulated to kill 99.9% percent of common germs, including influenza A flu virus, staphylococcus aureus, rhinovirus, salmonella enterica, on hard, non-porous surface.

absolutely. our hand washes are soap and can be used in the same way with the same efficacy as other leading liquid soap brands. it’s always a good idea to follow the CDC guidelines for effective hand washing (fyi, the “Golden Girls” theme song is about 20 seconds if you’re getting tired of “Happy Birthday”). Let us know if you have any other questions + happy hand washing.

we are a cruelty free brand – that means our products are tested by people, not on animals.

we’re proud to make most of our soap bottles from recycled plastic. our clear plastic bottles, including our fabulous foaming hand wash and spray bottles, are made from 100% post consumer recycled (PCR) PET plastic (#1). our opaque bottles, like our body washes & toilet cleaner, are made from recycled HDPE plastic (#2). the recycled content of these bottles range from 25% to 85%, and we’re always trying to develop bottles with more.

our soap bottles are made from recycled materials and are designed for maximum recyclability. method uses primarily #1 and #2 plastics, and designs packaging for high recycled content, material efficiency and recyclability. go ahead and leave caps on your bottles when you toss them in the bin and check with your local municipality if pumps + triggers can be recycled. some of our bottles are decorated with a perforated overwrap label, which should be removed + thrown away before recycling the bottle.

closed loop packaging is our ultimate goal – meaning the bottles we create can be recycled and transformed back into the exact same raw material to create new bottles. we choose the materials we use based on which plastics + packaging materials are recycled most, and we try to design our bottles to be compatible with North American recycling systems. check with your local recycling program to make sure our bottles can be recycled in your area. We like earth911 for a quick check.

our hand wash pumps are a bit different than others on the market in that they do not lift up and release. for best results, first ensure that the dispenser is screwed on tightly to the bottle (otherwise the nozzle will simply spin), turn the nozzle clockwise for a quarter-spin and then press down to dispense.

sorry to hear something isn’t working the way it should. many method fans like to refill and reuse our bottles, and our pumps typically last through 3-5 bottle refills.

if you need a replacement part, we’ll get you fixed up in a jiffy. please email us with the following information:

    1. the name + fragrance of the product you have
    2. the size of the bottle
    3. the lot code (the 6-digit code stamped on the bottom or near the neck of the bottle)
    4. a description of the packaging woes you’re experiencing
    5. your mailing address

you can use method surface cleaners on many types of sealed and non-porous surfaces. have a specific surface you want to double check? our team is happy to answer your questions.

we always recommend testing any new cleaner in a small, inconspicuous area first to make sure it’s compatible with the surface. it’s also a good idea to check with the manufacturer of the surface for any cleaning or surface safety instructions. and of course, consult the instructions on the product label itself.

our recommendation for sealed and non-porous stone surfaces is our dedicated daily granite cleaner.

many of our surface cleaners are safe to use on sealed and non-porous stone types. the exceptions are the antibac cleaners and foaming bathroom cleaner. that’s because they are on the acidic side of the pH scale, which isn’t recommended for stone surfaces.

as a general precaution, we always recommend testing new cleaners in a small, inconspicuous area first to make sure the product is compatible with the surface. and of course, refer to the product’s label instructions. if you have a question about using a specific cleaner on your stone, don’t hesitate to reach out.

our antibacterial cleaners use citric acid to break down germs. first, it’s a good idea to do a quick pre-clean. just spray + wipe any excess dirt + grime off the surface before sanitizing or disinfecting.

next, spray our antibac cleaner until your surface is thoroughly wet. to sanitize, let it stand for 5 minutes before wiping with a paper towel or clean cloth. to disinfect, leave it for 10 minutes before wiping.

please note: our antibac cleaners are designed to be used on hard, non-porous surfaces that have been effectively sealed. some surfaces—such as natural stone, poured cement, wood and certain types of tile—are porous and difficult to seal effectively, so you’ll want to avoid using our antibac products on them.

we always recommend testing any new cleaner in a small, inconspicuous area first to make sure it’s compatible with the surface. it’s also a good idea to check with the manufacturer of the surface for any cleaning or surface safety instructions.

we like to choose our own adventures, and we thought you might too. that’s why we offer several types of laundry detergent that fight tough dirt + stains, and smell great doing it.

our pump laundry detergent is the most concentrated laundry product on the market. the convenient pump dispenser makes laundry time a breeze. you can also pick up refill pouches to extend the life of your bottle.

we developed our 66 load detergent as an option with more fragrances and a traditional pour-top dispenser for people who don’t prefer the pump.

our laundry detergent packs are our most low maintenance option. just toss into the bottom of your washing machine, add clothes, start load + enjoy the rest of your day.

all of the above. our laundry detergents are formulated to be effective in both standard and high efficiency (HE) machines. you can use the same dosing for both machine types.

we have two types of hand wash refills: gel and foaming. they’re not interchangeable, so you’ll want to look at the bottles pictured on the refill package to make sure you have the right one. here’s the scoop on each:

the gel hand wash refill is thicker. it’s 32 oz and is made for use in our iconic, teardrop-shaped bottle. it can be used as a refill in our gel hand wash bottle or a standard decorative soap dispenser.

the foaming hand wash refill is about the consistency of water. it’s 28 oz and is made for use in our sloped foaming hand wash bottle. it will only work with our special foaming dispenser to make marshmallow-y foam.

if you know you have the right refill and are still having trouble, contact us + we’ll help get your bottle back in action.

the simple answer is that all of our products have a shelf life of about 2 years. after that, you may begin to see changes in the way they look, smell or work. that said, your product could be older than that and still work perfectly well. light, heat and other factors can age products faster, so if it hasn’t been exposed to them it may be just fine.

the best thing to do is give it a try. if it seems to have lost its power to fight dirty, just empty the bottle and throw it in your recycling bin. if it still cleans up a storm, then keep using it to clean happy.

we sure think so, and we have first-hand knowledge. if you’d like to hear more about what our current career opportunities are, you can find everything you need to know here.
