  •

    free + clear

shamelessly clean. no dyes. no perfumes.

  •

    fresh air

you've heard that saying before, when something refreshing just breezed in, and everything's a little bit better because of it? well, this scent is just like that – a breath of fresh air. the kind you smell. pretty much named itself.

  •

    lavender cedar

despite what you might assume, lavender cedar is not a particular variety of bedding for Provençal hamsters. rather, it is a decidedly sophisticated scent suitable for laundering your unmentionables or tidying up your chateau—or your sixth floor walk-up. it’s not fussy.

  •

    spring daisy

few things sadden us more than the brevity of springtime. like most good things, it’s gone before we’ve had enough. but not anymore. we’ve captured its essence and now the light scent of blooming spring daisies is yours whenever you like.

  •

    sweet pea

babies smell wonderful, except when they don’t. in an effort to harness the former, we’ve bottled the heavenly scent of little ones still warm from the bath. so even if that freshness is fleeting where your own sweet pea is concerned, every cleanup and wardrobe change will feel like the first. even if it’s more like the seventh.

love this stuff

After using all different kinds of laundry detergents, I find this one is the cheapest and works the best. Also like the way you can get refills for the stuff without buying another bottle.

Allergies to the Method Laundry Detergent

Though the idea behind a natural, super-concentrated product is one I can stand behind, 4 of the 7 members in our household have had allergic reactions to the Lavender Cedar laundry detergent. I have to admit, I am totally bummed. I hoped this would work well for our family, but that was not the case. We have tried a variety of different ecosafe laundry products without having this issue. I wish I could give the product more than 1 star, just because of the concept, but with 57% of my family reacting, I cannot in good faith give that rating at all.

Love it

Great product. I’ve been a Tide mom for years and with our 3 kids and busy lives, I do a lot of laundry (thank goodness for the front-loader machines). Found this and loved that using so little goes such a long way. I HATE the big jugs. And the scents are so wonderful. I’ve loved the Peony scent and now I’m using Fresh Air. I recently found the fabric softener too and it is by far the best I have tried. On suggestion for you Method geniuses: we are all active and like the “technical fabrics” that are out these days. Problem is, those fabrics REALLY hold onto our stink!! The only thing I’ve found that removes it is a product I have to order online. Would be a great idea for Method to create a NO STINK detergent that i could buy in my local Target or supermarket! Think about it!! I know you guys and gals can do it!

already loved the laundry detergent...

but now i’m even MORE in love with lavender cedar…i saw it online for the longest time but just found it available in a store and getting to open and smell it put any fears of it being ‘too floral’ to rest! in fact my clothing comes out of the dryer smelling as if i just pulled it from a cedar closet or chest, just that hint of warm, woody scent. the lavender keeps it fresh too, so it doesn’t have just a flat wood smell, it’s more complex, but definitely not too floral! i really hope this scent sticks around for a LONNNG time! if not, let your fans know so we can stock up before it’s gone! oh, and of course i always appreciate the cleaning power of METHOD detergent and how little room the bottle takes up…and the pump that makes measuring messiness a thing of the past!!

it did a little too well, as it washed out some tie-dye that I had previously thought was permanant. oh well. still did amazingly well, and it’s great for my grandmother, too, who can’t lift the jugs most other detergent comes in. I just with the refills were five dollars less!

Tiny footprint, big punch

I bought a container of this in spring daisy the other day and tried it out for the first time last night. I hate overly-perfumey scents, but I keep hoping to find a nice light springtime smell for my laundry. I have finally, finally, found that elusive smell! It cleans super well – I do my wash in the sink or bathtub and within no time my small apartment was lightly scented, especially after I hung everything to dry. It rinses out cleanly from my clothes and kicked all the dirt and stains off of my work jeans.

Thank you, Method!

sad rash

I was super excited to try your detergent, and I love the concept behind only buying what you really need to do laundry (concentrated detergent) and cutting out the waste created by shipping and packaging water. I love your hand soaps. I love your manifesto. I’m a fan.

My skin though is not a fan of this detergent. I’ve never had a rash from laundry soap before and was shocked when I connected the dots (figuratively, though I could have literally on my arms, stomach and back) that the appearance of my rash coincided with the first loads of laundry I did with this detergent. I’ve stopped using it to test my hypothesis, and the rash disappeared. Sadly I’m not going to be able to use this product again.

Has anyone else had this problem? Because it’s hypoallergenic and I’ve never had a reaction to any soap before, I’m really curious what’s going on and if I’m the only one.

Mmm..Smell That Fresh Air

I love, love, luuuuurve the pump design! It uses so little detergent and cleans just as well as the big name brands. The smell is nice and fresh but not overpowering. The pump design also saves room – which is AWESOME. I’m so sick of those big annoying jugs with the fill line you can’t see! Happy day!

I love it

love the detergent, it’s easy to use, and you can’t use too much. My ten year old daughter, and my dad who hates to do laundry, can do laundry. I love the scents as well. I use the Free Clear one for my parent’s clothes, and either Peony Blossom, or Fresh Air for my daughter and I

Great for my kids' skin, pleasant smell

My 5-year old daughters are allergic so I liked the fact that its smell is mild. Stains go away and it lasts for months. It’s a pity you cannot buy it in other EU countries yet (bought it last year while in US on business).

Best Stuff on Earth!

It cleans great, but even better I can teach my 10 year old twin boys how to help me out with the laundry. They know that 3 pumps and they feel liking they are helping out.

Love it....

I find this laundry detergent cleans alot better than the most expensive detergent out there. All i can say is i love it and my son loves doing his laundry with the detergent too. I have considered putting this into my gift baskets during the holidays or for birthdays, due to the fact it’s a great product , easy to use and light to haul around.

Great Product

Method laundry detergent works amazing as has most of its products. Before Method I searched out greener products but found my good intentions were not getting my clothes or home any cleaner. This detergent works great with just four pumps. My clothes are clean and smell great, there’s no compromise of cleansliness!

I do think that Method should consider two options:
1) as economy of scale improve and these products are more widespread, please make them more affordable for families
2) consider allowing people to dispense without the pump for those who go to laundry mats.

Method is a good thing and should do all it can to be more accessible. Thanks Method team!

conversion

Trying to be green I bought the Free and Clear Laundry Detergent to refill another clean container I already have. Can you please give me a rough conversion for the amount in a pump? 1 TBSP? I would appreciate it!

I love the lavender cedar scent...

I love method laundry detergent. It’s the only brand I’ve found that my fiance isn’t allergic to. I would only love it more if they made the refills in all of the scents. It doesn’t make sense for me to continue to buy the lavender cedar at a small size which the larger would make more sense, but it especially doesn’t make sense that I can’t buy the refill for it. I’m just enamored by the scent! I feel like it’s such an unecessary waste of plastic. Keep up the Good Green Work, method! :)

makes going to class at 8 am easier

i LOVE this product but wish it were more affordable for a college student. it’s great waking up and putting on clothes that have been washed in this detergent, smells so good!

i want to be environmentally friendly without breaking the bank :)
4 stars just because of the price!

Great Item!

This was the first Method product I purchased (because I had a coupon!), and I am so glad I did! It is the perfect size for my front-loading washer drawer. Also, it’s so easy to use. I never fear that I am using too much or too little. The scents I have tried are great, and it surprises me how great it cleans. Thanks, Method.

great clean, not so great pump

I give the four stars for cleaning. It is by far the best laundry detergent I have ever used. But the bad news is that it is not appropriate for laundromat use, because the pump is too difficult to lock down. You have to remember to do it after your last squirt, and then it is really hard to hold in place while locking. You can’t just leave it unlocked because it can get depressed while in transit. You need to either provide a cap or some way to lock it without having to press it down first; otherwise I’m sorry to say I won’t be buying more until I have a home washer….

YAY! Buuuut

I went to my local Target today and was pleasantly surprised that refills are there! That is completely awesome, especially since I haven’t thrown my bottles away. I am dissappointed however that my fabric softener was nowhere to be found. I have to go to a different store to purchase it.

Amazing Product...

..and my hubby agrees! He works maintenance and comes home with very dirty clothes, and this is the only product to get them really clean and smelling great. I’m impressed with the small bottle, so convenient and “green”. We have a tiny laundry room so the less space a bottle takes up the better. Every time I purchase it at the grocery store, all the cashiers are intrigued about what it is, think I may have converted quite a few of them, It’s also a great product to take on vacation, fits nicely in a ziploc bag and takes up very little room in the suitcase.

Fix the Pump!

The mechanism on the pump worked erratically and I could never get a consistent amount-per-pump. No matter how good the product, if it is frustrating to use, I will avoid it. I abandoned this, the only disappointing Method product I have encountered.

Refillable?

I love the new pump BUT how about coming out with a refill pack. I’ve been dumping in the remainder of the my last old-style bottle of Method detergent (since I love the pump so much), so I know it is refillable. I would really prefer to recycle just a small refill instead of the entire still-usable pump bottle. Come-on Method!

!!! LOVE !!!

WOW! Is that enough of a review?
How awesome to not have to schlepp a huge detergent container from the store, into the car & in the house only to have it take up precious real estate in the laundry room!!!! I get such a kick out of grabbing it from the little space it takes up, 4 little squirts and DONE! See, there I go… giggle! Not only does it save space, great for Mother Earth but this stuff really and truly cleans – and I’ve got two messy little’uns that often leave me wondering how the heck I’ll get those stains out. I used to use Tide and although I’m no tree hugger, I don’t like the fact that it’s tested on animals AND they don’t list all of it’s ingredients (some reports have stated that there’s fiberglass in it to help get the yuck out of our clothing… WHAT?). Do just the smallest bit of reasearch and you’ll find that Methods clean is far better, safer, inexpensive and saves space. Way to go Method Men!

Love it, but Confused by How Much to Use

I really like this new bottle. I am using the unscented and love how clean it gets my clothes. I also appreciate how little packaging there is – yeah even less to use and recycle. I am confused about how much to use in my HE washer – the directions just say 2-3-or 4 pumps depending on how dirty but doesn’t differentiate between HE and top loading machines…help?!?

No Odor if left in washe

Wow. Its been hectic here and in the last 2 days I have not had a chance to dry the load of towels that I started washing way back when (2days ago). I was scared to open the lid because I KNOW that if clothes sit for longer than a few hours they get the mildewy smell and they have to be rewashed. Well that is not the case with this method! I got the lavendar cedar scent, which is still growing on me, and I was so relieved (and shocked) that I didn’t have to wash the same towels again. AMAZING! There was no bad odor, and they actually still smelled like the scent of the method.

Only downside is that there is no softening “agents” like the Gain I normally use, so I have to add a good bit of fabric softener to get my towels plush again. The first time I washed towels without the f.s. the towels were scratchy, when they have been soft.

I would also LOVE a refill. Now an 10 lb. refill I would lug home, or have delivered to my door! :)

But it sold me on the odor test!!

Great idea-needs a little work

I was thrilled to discover the detergent in a pump, what a great idea! The clean and scent are wonderful, as with all Method products….but after only 3 uses the pump failed. Would like a more robust pump and refillable package.

Gets the stink out!

I struggled for a long time with a sour smell in my towels, even when washed on a “sanitize” cycle! Then I started using the Method laundry detergent. I can save by washing on a normal cycle and using this detergent. Win-Win!

Love the new Design

I love the new design. It’s so convenient.
I go out of my way to get these products. They are hard to find where I live. I Love the way Peony Blossom smells, but I REALLY WISH Method would make a fabric softener in this fragrance. I’m just not crazy about the fresh air smell.

It cleans great but even

It cleans great but even better, it’s compact, I don’t have to lug a 10 pound bottle home from the grocery store! What I would like is just to buy refills – the pump is awesome but I don’t want to be throwing one out every time I’m done with the bottle. Can you just sell it with a foil top for refills only?

what do you think about method laundry detergent – 25 loads?
