    fresh air

you've heard that saying before, when something refreshing just breezed in, and everything's a little bit better because of it? well, this scent is just like that – a breath of fresh air. the kind you smell. pretty much named itself.

    lavender lilac

when we thought of things that could make our 'running barefoot through fields of lavender fantasy’ better, we kept mentally finding ourselves in nantucket. which led us to lilac. the effect was a floral summer dream—precisely what was intended for this fragrance.

    water lily + aloe

imagine yourself exploring the canopy of the Amazon rainforest. let’s assume you can fly for the sake of this exercise. now breathe deeply to bask in the watery, green freshness of bergamot, hyacinth blossom, water lily + orange flower. isn’t flying the best?

you have to use water!

I read all the comments about staining here. You have to use water with this product. Then you won’t have any stains at all. Trust me I went through this. Mix it up with H2O in a measuring cup or pour water in your softener compartment of your washing machine. It works.

Mix with water!

I’m noticing lots of complaints about staining. You need to mix this softener with water! I too got stains until I read that my new washer has a compartment where you put in the softener and then a third cup or so of water. Stains gone and never to return. It seems that Method isn’t the only softener that does this gooey trick in the rinse cycle so they want EVERY brand to mix with water.
Anyway it works.
For me the Method softener works just fine. I only wish that some of the nicer scents would come back, like Peony Blossom and the newer scents would be available, like Beach Sage. The mixing of scents from detergent to softener leaves a muddled aroma and then you’ve got the dryer spray adding another smell!

The first few times I absolutely loved your fabric softener. However, then I started to notice stains on my clothes. Then my sheets. Finally, I figured out that it was the fabric softener. How in the world can you sell a product that stains cotton items? I would think that surely I must be doing something wrong, but how can I mess up pumping fabric softener into the specially designed fabric softener compartment of my 2013 washer machine? I use other Method cleaning supplies and am sorely disappointed that not only did this softener not work- but it ruined quite a few of my clothes and sheets.

Free and clear

I do love the scents, but my skin is very sensitive and itches like crazy when I use any scented products. I use your detergent in free and clear, but what about softener? Even people with sensitive skin need soft clothes… Perhaps even more.

A trick for those who have problems with staining

I was shocked when I saw so many people complaining of stains; I never had that problem! Then I realized that it must be because I’m the only one mixing it with water inside of a Downy ball. My washer doesn’t have any compartment to pour the liquid fabric softener in, so I just used my old Downy ball as I usually do, and I never had stains. Try it out! Just put the normal amount of pumps (I do about 4), then mix with some water until the fill line of the ball, and throw it in at the beginning of the wash.

Gets THE Job Done!

I really love the original version, not the pump! I still have the original, where you mix it with the water before putting in your washing machine rinse area. I have the Water Lily & Aloe liquid … awesome, lightly scented fragrance! Thank you!

I really loved this product until I saw my kid’s t-shirt from school with some “oily” stains!! I didn’t used it direct in my clothes. Now, I will need to buy 4 more t-shirts!! ;$

Fabric Softener

I absolutely love all of your products! One thing though, if you have Spring Daisy laundry detergent, then why not Spring Daisy fabric softener? I want my scents to match! :-)
Thanks for considering!

Fresh Air Softener is my fave!

I have been using the Fresh Air scent fabric softener for a while now and I love it! I am very sensitive to fragrances and this does not bother me at all. I squirt 4 pumps into a Downy fabric softener ball because my washer does not have a reservoir for fabric softener. I have not experienced any of the issues that other reviewers have reported with the softener staining my clothes. The smell does not last forever on your clothes, but I don’t want that anyway. Way to go with the great product, Method!

Method Fabric Softner

I just used Method Fabric Softner (liquid) for the first time. The liquid did not mix with the water in the rinse cycle. There are now stains on all of my clothes, which I cannot remove. I did not use this product directly on the clothes, but it adhered to the fabric in ‘globs’ and has discolored everything. Do not use this product!

Peony Blossom & Refills please

I just bought the fabric softener in lavender lilac and I really like the way my clothes feel and smell coming out of the dryer. I have HE front loading washer and I find that a regular sized load takes about 5 pumps to get the perfect level of softness. I do wish that it was available in refills and that it was available in peony blossom scent. Peonies remind me of the smell of childhood dolls and is a very pleasant scent. I like to have my detergent, fabric softener and dryer sheets to be the same scent (hint hint…please make it in dryer sheets too) and it gets weird if I have to mix the scents like I do now. Otherwise, this stuff is awesome. I’ve not noticed any of the problems other posters have mentioned. Not even on my dark colored clothes.

Refills Please!

I love the fabric softener, although I do agree with some other posts that the scent doesn’t really last that long. However, I my biggest issue is that I really want this to be available in the refill pouch like the detergent is! Please, please, please!

Great product but needs some fine tuning

First, I want to say I’m a huge fan of Method products. I’ve switched out all my soaps, detergents, cleaning products, etc. to Method as new products become available. So far the only slight disappointment I’ve had is with the liquid fabric softener. I find it doesn’t disolve well and I end up with spots on some of my clothes. They are particularly noticeable on dark clothes. The spots usually come out when washed a second time without the fabric softener, but that really defeats the eco-friendly aspect. I also have noticed that the nice scent fades very quickly.

Love this product... however...

I love this product, however I have noticed that it doesn’t dissolve very well in cold water. My washer only has a cold water rinse – the last few times I have pulled the clothes out, there have been “clear” stains…when I bring them close to smell/inspect, all I can smell is the fabric softener. For now I have resorted to mixing with warm water before placing in washer – to help dissolve….but I shouldn’t have to. I also noticed that the scent fades FAST – I hang a lot of clothes & they smell like “nothing” after they are dry…

Now, If only our Target would sell ALL of your products. They are also available at Philbrick’s Fresh Market – however I would need a second mortgage to afford their prices (the mark up is UNREAL!)

PS: the new description indicates that there are more scents of this available – where are they?

It's nearly there

I’m really mixed about this softener, it works well, clothes come out soft and smooth and the concentrated formula packs a ton of loads into a nice compact bottle.

Buuuuut… I just don’t like the Fresh Air scent at all. >.>

The smell is far too traditional and doesn’t appeal to me. It feels like it’s made for an older crowd, one that’s accustomed to flatter, more blunt floral scents. It has a bit of staying power too, so I can’t just ignore it or wait for it to go away.

I’d love it if there was something more modern, or even a free and clear option. *crosses fingers*

Refills PLEASE!

I would really like to have the fabric softner refills! Plus I have to drive out of my way now because the Target up the street doesn’t carry the fabric softner anymore :(. I really like Thomas’s idea of Almond scent. . .I love fresh air and have not had any allergy issues at all, and the smell is very light LOVE IT! But I think I would like it in Almond too! And I am a woman ☺ I could also handle smelling like a nut, lol.

In full agreement.

Like others here, I can agree with the following sentiments:

1. Would like a refill pack for the softener too!
2. While the scent is intense when first pulled out of the washer, it doesn’t seem to last too long.

I actually only use 2 or 3 pumps (instead of the 4 mentioned on the label) because that really gets the job done.

soft clothes but icky side effects for the senstive skinned

I liked the softness in my clothes but the fresh air smell gave me a horrible headache, kept sneezing and had irration on my skin. Had to re-wash entire load with the method free and clear detergent but use a free and clear version name brand fabric softener. But used method’s pure+free dryer sheets. I had to give the fresh air fabric softener away. I will be more then happy to give this fabric softener another shot but not untill a free+pure version comes out. Untill then I’m back using ultra downey.

Sometimes you feel like a nut...

Truly LOVE this amazing detergent & fabric softener, but was wondering if the Fresh Air scent has been discontinued and if refills will be available soon? As a ‘dude’ I personally don’t prefer trotting about smelling like a Peony Blossom or a Sweet Pea, sweet pea! How about a Sandalwood or Almond scent? Yes, I’d prefer to smell like a nut rather than a flower! LOL ;-)

I LOVED the Method Fresh Air fabric softener in the original bottle and was so excited to see it offered in the pump formula. HOWEVER, the pump formula, well, to put it bluntly, stinks! The smell (to my nose and my family’s noses) is way too strong and makes our clothes smell bad. I am so disappointed!

Smells So Good!!

I love the pump, it’s so easy to put in fabric softener. This smell is a nice clean smell and it fills the air with the smell as the dryer completes the load. The smell tends to hang out on clothes and towels for a bit. I just tried it while on vacation, so I’ve been wearing everything over and over and doing laundry frequently, so I’ve been loving this all week!!!!!
