    fresh air

you've heard that saying before, when something refreshing just breezed in, and everything's a little bit better because of it? well, this scent is just like that – a breath of fresh air. the kind you smell. pretty much named itself.

    lavender lilac

when we thought of things that could make our 'running barefoot through fields of lavender fantasy’ better, we kept mentally finding ourselves in nantucket. which led us to lilac. the effect was a floral summer dream—precisely what was intended for this fragrance.

Awesome Product

After reading the other reviews I did not have high hopes for this product, but I figured I’d give it a try and see what sort of results I got. Well needless to say I am never going back to regular dryer sheets again! It smells great and did a fantastic job a reducing static when I couple it with dryer balls. I found that if I just turn the bottle upside down and shake it a little before I squirt it, then I don’t have any problems getting it to spray. 100% satisfied!!!

Dryer Sheets

Bring back the dryer sheets! The pump spray smells nice, but it does NOTHING for static. I would rather have neutral-smelling static free clothes that great smelling clothes full of static electricity! Your CUSTOMERS HAVE SPOKEN, consumer demand is there!

After I couldn’t find method dryer sheets, I thought I would try this. It softens the clothes enough and gives them a fresh smell, however, it does NOT reduce static at all. I use the number of sprays recommended and I even put in part of my wet load into the dryer and spray, then put in more clothes and spray, and so on. I thought I was getting static because I only sprayed into the dryer after I had already put the clothes in but even after spraying several squirts and putting more clothes into the dryer(thinking it would distribute the product more evenly) I still had a TON of static. I gave this two stars because it does soften and make the clothes smell nice but this should be labeled as a “SOFTENER” only. Also, what good is a product when you feel you have to use twice as much as it says you need to in order for it to work? I HATE this stuff but I haven’t got much of a choice of things to switch to. BRING BACK DRYER SHEETS!

No problems with the bottle for me!

I’ve never had a problem with the pump, and I’m on my 6th or 7th bottle. Not sure what the problem is. I’m sure I would have encountered a faulty bottle by now. All mine work like a dream, smell great, clothes are way softer and works better than downy unstopables as far as long lasting scent. I spray 4 sprays on the wet clothes as directed and then when the clothes are dry I open the dryer and spray one or two more sprays and fluff the clothes for 1 minute. This last step makes the clothes extra soft and the smell last so much longer and smells much for fresh than the chemically smell of the downy unstopables or purex crystals. Love it!

For all you people having trouble with the sprayer. If you turn it to “OFF” when you are done for the day it will not clog! Also, once a month take the sprayer off and run hot water through it. Love this, so much better then dryer sheets!

Great Softner, Crappy Pump

The stars are for what is inside the bottle. My clothes come out soft and smelling great. I had to buy two bottles because the spray pump didn’t work on the first one. Packaging problems aside, this product allows me to regulate exactly how much softer I want based on the size load I am drying. Brilliant! I have found that the Method laundry detergent and softner pump bottles don’t always work either.my above to method is to get their packing under control.

There is something about the liquid that causes the bottle to clog. We tried buying two bottles and both clogged. We then poured the liquid into a generic spray bottle and that clogged as well. It works well, when it squirts. This needs to be fixed before we buy it again.

Pump sucks

Really would rate this zero stars. Bought this on the recommendation of a friend who swears by this stuff. Have a teenage football player and his clothes smell AWFUL after practice/games. Sprayer worked for one load of laundry – that’s it. Great concept, smelled great, but what good is it if I have to put in another bottle? Emailed for a refund or replacement – has anyone else received + feedback from Method?

works great

Haven’t had any problems at all. Shake well before using. I use four sprays, but I don’t spray all in the same place. I spray four different areas, and I don’t have any problems. The smell is evenly dispersed and the clothes don’t have static. Best of all, I don’t have to listen to my husband gripe about dryer sheets ending up all around the house!

Won't spray, don't waste your money

I am so tired of buying dryer sheets, but they are far superior to this product. Unfortunately, the liquid clogs the bottle after the third use or so. Even after transferring to a different spray bottle, we have the same problem. Extremely poor product testing & quality control on Method’s part.

if only it would spray...

i really want to use this product up because it is taking up space. not only do i have to use twice as much product to avoid static cling but the spray nozzle is always clogging up. i’ve actually noticed that many of the spray nozzles on the new bottles of all products seem to have issues. DO NOT BUY…DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

I have bought several of these and have only once had a problem with the pump. Which was completely my fault. I left the bottle in the car overnight and the liquid froze up, so I broke the pump. I went to the dollar store and bought a regular spray bottle and this has worked fine.

Clogged pump & stains

OK, the first bottle pump clogged on the second spray, so I bought another one. The second pump is functioning, but the sheets, towels, and pajamas I used it on all have weird stains on them. I couldn’t figure out where the stains came from until I realized I had used this spray on all those loads of laundry. I haven’t seen any other reviews re: this product causing stains, but I’m sure that’s what did it. Now I’ve switched to Seventh Generation dryer sheets—they smell great and don’t stain my laundry.

strong artificial scent

I love the smell of lavender and lilacs. Great concept. Really holds the smell. The problem is the smell is like perfume. I wear lavender essential oil as a perfume. This stuff smells nothing like it. Some people love the smell of perfume. Not me. They just need to add less synthetic smell and more essential oil. I will pay extra for that.

I’d give this no stars if it would let me. I wish I’d read the reviews of this product before I bought this. I thought I had a bottle with a broken sprayer, so I bought a 2nd bottle thinking I’d just keep refilling the new bottle with the liquid from the “broken” one. Only after forking out $8.00 more did I find out it’s not the bottle. I purchased a clean, empty spray bottle and poured some in it and that one clogged up and won’t work either. This stuff clogs up sprayers like cement. No amount of soaking in hot water knocks it loose… which makes me wonder how environmentally wonderful it can be. So now I’m out about $20 and have 24.4 ounces of spray and 3 broken sprayers. I am NOT HAPPY and it makes me not want to try any new Method products.

Don't buy this

The first time I used this it worked well. Second time, the sprayer head was blocked up. I took it apart, cleaned it, then reassembled. It sprayed once, then blocked up again. Don’t buy this until they fix the problem.

The lavender lilac has a really nice scent, no static, and very easy to use. Was concerned it would be too sweet a scent for my husband, but it’s perfect. Had same problem with the sprayer as other customers, but like the product so much I can get past the sprayer. Added a little water to thin out the softener, I hope it helps as the sprayer makes it especially easy and no waste. Either way, I will figure out a way to use this softener – another type of sprayer, perhaps – if it doesn’t work. Worse comes to worst, I’ll keep a few wash cloths handy, dab some on the cloth, and toss in the dryer. Not as convenient, but still no waste. Definitely purchase again and would recommend.

if I could use the product....

2/2 pumps are broken. When I could access the product, it was wonderful. For $7+/bottle I expect to be able to use it more than a couple times. For now I’ll just put the product in a different bottle. Shame.

Great Product, Failed Pump

I recently purchased this product and was very happy with it until I used it 3 times and then the pump failed miserably. I wish I had read the product reviews before buying as most of the reviews from other customers mention something about pump malfunction. This is very unfair to the consumer. I have recently switched most of my household products to method but am very disapointed by this. I guess I could use the remainder of the product in the wash like a regular softener. It would be a crying shame not to enjoy the lovely product because of the MAJOR MALFUNCTION OF THE PACKAGE DESIGN.Hopefully method can get it together and fix this problem or bring back the lovely dryer sheets I have tryed in the past. You cant call it “METHOD” IF THE “METHOD” CLEARLY FAILS

I’m yet another user who is extremely disappointed in the pump sprayer for this product. Unlike other reviews above, I never even got it to work ONE TIME. So basically I have a lovely-smelling $8 bottle of paperweight. I’m really upset about it, I was looking forward to using it for my sheets and other bedclothes.

Great Product, bad package...

Love this spray as an option for a fabric softener. So many nice things to say, it smells good (although I would prefer the lemonade scent that comes in the Mickey hand soap!) It works well. But again, the pump. I’ve bought two separate bottles now and both have the same problem. My question is this; what about a better built bottle and spray nozzle, and large refills like the Method laundry detergent. I would be over the moon for a refillable Method Laundry set for both laundry detergent and fabric softener out of aluminum or stainless steel, make it dishwasher safe for cleaning and with a good sprayer and I’d be giving them as gifts endlessly. The plastics are fine, but long term re-usability is not great. And the pumps/sprayers don’t last. Love the product, but please, make a better solution for delivery.

If I could get it out of the bottle...

The dryer-activated fabric softener seems like a great idea: no dryer sheets to throw away, no adding fabric softener to the wash. If only I could get the pump to actually spray. The fabric softener seems to have little crystals or grains in it that clog the pump. The pump clogged without getting a single spray of fabric softener out. I unclogged the pump with water only to have it immediately clog again, and I even tried a new spray bottle, which also became clogged. I ended up having to unscrew the cap and shake the fabric softener all over my laundry (and ended up dripping down my hands as well). I used about 1/3 of the bottle before breaking down and going out to buy regular fabric softener. I would not buy this product again unless there is a major package redesign.

Won't be buying...

I love Method dryer sheets, as they were the only ones I could use due to sever allergic reaction to every other one on the market I have used. In the interest of minimizing my impact on landfills, I reused them several times successfully. This new product I will not try….spray a liquid on my clothing?!? Maybe for people without allergies. But let me share with you all…I didn’t always have skin allergies. My dermatologist informed me about how I developed them: from years of exposure to the perfumes and chemicals in the fabric softeners I was using, thereby creating the allergy over time. Now I have to be extremely careful the detergents, softeners, even lotions I use. Please bring back the Naked Sheets!!!

Condiment Bottle Save!

My nozzle broke also, so I put the product in a condiment bottle and squirt a squiggly line on a washcloth and throw into dryer. Seems to work and the product doesn’t get wasted, but I probably won’t buy it again.

one star for effort. honestly, how did this make it past the development team????? spray nozzle for product delivery – awesome, if it works, but, it does not, rendering the product completely useless.

pump fail

I bought 2 bottles, 2 different scents. One of the pumps froze/broke immediately the other gave me about 10 loads and then quit. Very sad, because the product smells lovely, just wish I could actually use it.

Great idea, poor execution

I LOVE the idea of this product, and was VERY excited when I saw it at the store. Couldn’t wait to try it. Unfortunately, after about 3 or 4 times, the sprayer froze. I tried rinsing it out to see if it would unclog, but no luck. Very disappointed. Hopefully, method will rework the sprayer, until then I am back to Bounce dryer sheets since I can’t get method dryer sheets anywhere around here.

Feb. 21, 2013

Nice Idea, but.....

I haven’t had problems with the sprayer not working like some others, but I don’t think this product works effectively. The scent is great and the idea wonderful, but it doesn’t disperse evenly on clothes some smell great others, no scent at all and clothes still come out with a lot of static. Even if I use extra sprays (2-4) more than recommended it doesn’t solve the static cling issue. Hope they are able to make some improvements, I don’t mind having to spray a few more times to get better results, although I probably am only getting 50 loads per bottle as opposed to 100, but static cling reduction is important to me and not matter how much a I use, I don’t see much improvement from using no fabric softener at all.

Love the product..hate the trigger

I love using Method for all my laundry needs, it’s perfect for my kids sensitive skin, it cleans well and the smell is wonderful. My only issue is the trigger pump for the dryer activated softener. It broke half way through the first bottle I bought. Thinking it was my fault, I bought another bottle and that one didn’t even make it through a 1/4 of the way… I would like to continue buying this product but for now I’m gonna refuse because the bottle doesn’t work :(

clogged pump

I purchased your “dryer-activated fabric softener” at Target recently
and the spray pump broke– I’m not even 1/2 way through the bottle. I
have tried cleaning the pump out several times it appears to have a
clog that just won’t loosen. I am very dissatisfied with this product what a waste of money. I did like the product when the pump worked, but now it’s useless so I gave it 1 star.

Trigger sprayer crap!!

I love Method & all of their products…HOWEVER, I have to agree with the comments about the sprayer…initially, I purchased MULTIPLE bottles (at least six…i like to buy in bulk), BUT EACH of the sprayer handles have failed…I’ve only used one bottle but have used all six sprayers in that bottle…all have failed. I finally purchased a spray bottle and will try that. The worst seems to be the inattention from Method on the issue…Product: 5* Container: 1*

OMG- THIS! Pump.....

I use Method for EVERYTHING and love the products. The pump on this thing! It’s horrible. I have now gone through 3 bottles and each time I have to purchase a “new” sprayer, pour the contents of the Method bottle in the new sprayer and use until that sprayer gets clogged and so on until I can finish out the product. I really like this, but it’s getting a little expensive to continue to buy new sprayers to use the product not to mention quite a bit wasteful. Please, please figure out a way to fix this problem so I can purchase again because as of now it is just not cost effective!

another broken pump

The product worked, but the sprayer died after only three loads! If the product works as a softener but breaks the sprayer, YOU SHOULDN’T SELL IT AS A SPRAY. I half want to try it in another spray bottle but what happens if it breaks that one as well? This will be a return, not an exchange.

The pump has stopped working for me, and I’m not even a quarter of the way through the bottle. Even tried to fix the clog myself but no luck.

fantastic little thing

I love this product!!! I can spray more on static prone items and then less on other items. The smell is fantastic and having so many loads all kept in a small bottle, I love it! I have noticed some issues with the spray too. I really really hope method will forever keep this product just maybe work on the nozzle. I really love having a fabric softener that doesn’t burn my eyes.. some of the other brands are so potent. Thanks method for being such a wonderful company, where I feel safe using your products around my house.

I love the smell of this product, but the formula is too thick and the spray mechanism is too weak. The liquid clogs up the nozzle and I can’t use this new product, such a waste of money.

Method should pull this product off shelves until they figure out a better formula. But since they are a business…they will leave this product on shelves allowing people to waste money, while they take their sweet time fixing the defects of this product.

Great concept Method, but you let being one of the first dry-activated fabric softener sprays on the market, outweigh the fact that the product doesn’t work.

I want my money back and a new bottle once you’ve fixed the problem.
(I do love the idea of this product, but it just doesn’t work.)

bad pump for me too

i’d love to rate this higher, i love method products. but i only got to use it for 2 loads before my pump started seizing up. first time it was great, second time it started to spray funny, and by the third time, nothing came out. rinsing with water didn’t help. because now the pump handle doesn’t even squeeze it is locked up completely. please figure out a new system. otherwise its $7 down the tubes.

Love the product, hate the pump

We purchased this fabric softener because a) we love the method brand and b) our dog has a tendency to eat dryer sheets for some unknown reason. The fabric softener is amazing–great smell and no dryer sheet. The only real downside to this product is the bottle/pump. I’ll spray twice and the pump locks up or, like now, won’t work at all. We’re trying to switch it into a bottle with a more “heavy-duty” pump, but it’s really the only disappointing thing about this product.

Yet another bad pump

What am I doing wrong? Four or five loads, then the sprayer clogged. After several hours of soaking the sprayer in hot water and working at it, I got it working again. I’ll try vigorous shaking before each use, but if it clogs again… How did this problem not get solved in R & D? Four stars for the product, -3 for the sprayer!

Love the idea, but faulty nozzle

2nd sprayer that doesn't work

I want to like this, I really do but this is the second bottle where the sprayer worked for the first 2 times and now not at all.
Would love a remedy to this issue.
Love everything else.

Pump Malfunctions

Unfortunately, I purchased two bottles of this Method fabric softener, each pump malfunctioned by the 5th load. Then I read the review and was pleased to find out the malfunction was due to the formula. I will be contacting Method’s customer service to request support to replace the bad product.

So far so good!

I bought this and read the reviews after, hoping that I wouldn’t have the sprayer issue and I haven’t. So far I’d say I’ve done about 15 loads and no issues yet. I have the fresh air scent, I shake the crap out of it and I make sure to always turn the nozzle to off when I’m done. I like the concept but I wish that it matched the scent of my detergent (spring daisy). I dry most of our clothes on delicate and have found that if I spray it directly, only a few items have a smell and the rest doesn’t really smell like much. So what I’ve been doing is spraying it on the sides of the dryer drum right before I turn the dryer on. Seems to disperse better that way in my opinion. I took away one star only because I’m not a huge fan of the fresh air scent, it’s not horrible just not my favorite.

My trigger sprayer broke also

Wow! I can’t believe how many people are having problems with the sprayer on this product. Only got to use mine with 4 loads of laundry. I have email Method about a replacement. so disappointing

I read the reviews about the bad pum and didn’t really believe that Method would put out a malfunctioning product, but sure enough my pump is not working. I sprayed 4 times into one load of laundry and on spray #5, nothing. The trigger didn’t even move. I’m so disappointed.

so good, yet so bad

I’ve never had an experience like this with a Method product before and I use just about everything. I was so excited when this dryer activated fabric softener was released and was anxious to try it. I picked it up today and it worked beautifully for the first load and then the bottle totally failed. After the first 4 sprays into the first load of laundry, nothing came out. It wasn’t broken, wasn’t dried up, it just didn’t spray anything. A couple of drips from the nozzle, but the trigger didn’t even move. I am so disappointed.

Broken trigger

I’m giving this product 3 stars because it does work and smells great, but after five uses, the trigger stopped working. I have followed instructions, shaking the product before use, but to no avail it stopped working. I’ve soaked it in hot water to get it going, but doesn’t work. In Canada it’s expensive ($7.99) and I won’t be buying another one to see if that trigger will work.

Multiple Broken Nozzles

I love, love, LOVE Method products and was really excited to try this softener. Unfortunately, during the first use, the pump got clogged. I went upstairs, tried to transfer the liquid to a new bottle, but it clogged that one too. Then I tried a different type of nozzle…still no success. I will rate the product a 3 as it did make the clothes super soft and smell fantastic. Unfortunately, I don´t think I will be buying it again since there seems to be an issue with clogging. I would have thought this would be resolved before going to market, but maybe I just got a bad batch. Still, it is enough for me not to try it again. Sorry guys :(

Broken Pump Nozzle

I like the product, but the pump only lasted about five loads before it quit working. I tried taking it apart to clean it, but that didn’t help.

Shake it baby!

To all the people having difficulties with the pump, I recommend you give it some shakin’ action to get it going! Lol

Love the way it smells, no waste, no annoying sheet to find stuck to your husbands bball shorts when it’s supposed to help “remove static”!

product to thick?

I bought not one but two bottles of this product. The first bottle sprayed for one or two loads then just froze. No matter what I did I could not get the nozzle to spray again. So I bought another bottle, this one never even sprayed, it was frozen. Put it in a different spray bottle, came out in dribbles then froze. Put it in a bigger plant sprayer bottle, samething. Finally tonight bought a super duty spray bottle made for chemical. Did not spray, pumped the liquid up as far as the nozzle then froze. I am so disapointed, I paid close to 20 bucks including the new spray bottles and I can’t use this stuff. Too bad it seemed like a cool idea. I wonder how in the world this problem never surfaced during the research phase of new product.

I hear the 4 out of 6

I will NOT be trying this unless there is a big change in the pump. I’ve already got dishwasher tabs I have to add citric acid to in order to get clean dishes. I sure don’t need a dryer spritz for which I have to buy a new spray bottle.

Great Scent but...

I loved the smell but it’s not as strong as the dryer sheets unless you spray a few more times. I too had an issue with the sprayer nozzle. Luckily, I still had a few of my empty Method bottles that I recycle for other uses. I switched the nozzle and viola! I can use my spray. I think it needs to be either a bit thicker or the scent stronger to cut down on how many sprays I need to administer but over-all, I LOVE IT!

bad pump

I have always liked method’s dryer cloths but they are difficult to find in stores so I was exited to try this out. I was happy with the first 4 loads but then the pump broke. Thinking it was a fluke I bought a second bottle but I’ve only gotten 1 load done and the pump is broke. It is disappointing because the product works well.

Broken nozzle

Love the product, the scent (got the lavender lilac), but after 3 loads of laundry the nozzle broke. Just froze into place. Going to transfer into another bottle, but this seems crazy. Too bad, I love the idea.

Broken Pump Nozzle

I love the product and the idea but hate the pump! I got about 5 uses out of mine before it finally clogged permanently. It really didn’t seem to work properly from the start. I think there is a problem with the delivery method (no pun intended). It seems like the fluid may be clogging the spray bottle. Now I have to buy a spray bottle. I don’t want to buy another bottle of Method since I have a suspicion the same thing with happen again.

Broken pump nozel?

At the moment I can only rate this a three because the bottle I bought broke and won’t spray anymore after only about five loads of laundry. I’ll switch into a different bottle to keep using it because the product is nice, but a bit disappointed in the bottle as I have not had a problem with Method containers in the past.

bravo, method!

i’ve been searching for a good alternative to eco-unfriendly dryer sheets for some time now and this is perfect. i love the rest of the method laundry line, so this i the icing on the cake. job well done!

i’ve also found it to be the absolute BEST mosquito repellent (swear). i spritz a little on before going outside and voila! no bug bites.

best new product

Lobby love this product. Smells clean. Clothes are soft. We almost had a fire with dryer sheets. This is so perfect.

what do you think about dryer-activated fabric softener?
