we thought it was time to sing some praise for method’s unsung heroes: our chemists, toxicologists and environmental scientists, or as we call them internally, our “green chefs.”
it’s usually only us scientists who sing about each other, and anyone listening quickly understands that one reason we are all in this line of work has nothing to do with our microphone skills.
method’s “green chefs” came to work here because of a shared passion to further the revolution in environmental product development. by applying the concepts of green chemistry to product design, we can be certain we are using the safest and most effective ingredients available.
this is no easy task, particularly when designing cleaning products that don’t sacrifice performance for safety. lucky for us we have some of the best resources available to help. the material science research teams at EPEA in Hamburg, Germany and MBDC in Charlotte, North Carolina are run by Dr Michael Braungart and Bill McDonough, the guys who literally wrote the book on Cradle to Cradle product design. if you don’t know it yet, Cradle to Cradle endorses design that considers the past, present and future of any product we consume. we work with EPEA and MBDC on an ongoing basis, and their researchers have assessed and approved every single ingredient that we use in our products. this is the most robust possible platform for designing effective products with built-in environmental intelligence.
there. all done singing!
