party on a school night

posted August 23, 2011 by alexis |

last night we partied SF-style at THE PLANT café organic, where we introduced our upcoming book, THE METHOD METHOD, to local media and method friends.

Eric and Adam talked shop about the book and gave a sneak peek of soon-to-be-released products. guests were treated to delicious local bites and some of the nicest drinks we’ve ever had the pleasure of sampling. our personal favorite was the method mojito—made with neither rum nor mint.

in fact, it was so tasty, we wanted to share the recipe for this little bit of cocktail magic (and learn how to make it for ourselves). thanks to Fred, THE PLANT’s fantastic manager, for divulging his secret recipe. and to mixologist, Jessica Zaborowski for concocting such a treat.

all in all, the night was a grand success and a great start to the week. so without further ado, the cocktail:

method (i’m not a) mojito recipe**
1.5 ounces Organic Vodka

1.5 ounces Rothman & Winter Creme de Violette (this is the one brand that has that classic “French Lavender” color)

0.5 ounce fresh organic lemon juice

Splash of Dimmi (Italian Liqueur)

Lavender Sugar Rim
(to make: pulverize granulated sugar and dried lavender with a mortar + pestle and then sift through fine tea sieve)

**this may make for a tasty beverage to sip while chatting with Eric and Adam at their Sept 7 webinar. Yes, it might seem a touch early for a cocktail, but coffee can be so predictable.
