meet noah

not everyone can pull off a white suit, and those who can are a particularly special breed. which brings us to noah, our official spokes-singer. you’ll be seeing a lot of him in the coming months, giving that white suit a workout. seriously, we put him through the ringer. but he didn’t mind – because he’s lovely. this interview is proof.
has anyone recognized you from our brand anthem video? screaming fans and all that?
yes. my mom. but she thought I was the nose. *sigh* so what if I still wear onesies?!!?!!
do you have a motto you live by? sort of a personal “clean happy,” if you will.
“someone’s gotta do it…might as well be me.” the older we get, the faster time seems to speed away from us. to not go for it all the time seems like such a shame. really, what’s the worst that can happen? someone says “no” or they aren’t pickin’ up what you’re layin’ down? oh well- plenty of others are. as long as you’re ok with who you are and where you’re going, someone *is* going to do it. and it’s gonna be you.
what keeps you inspired to do what you do?
friends. variation. bok choy. I moved to los angeles because I wanted to make movies with my friends. I’ve never lost sight of that, even while paying my dues and taking jobs I hated. I get to create with people that I love and respect; people who genuinely care about each other. we’re launching our own production company “OH10″ later this month and everyone’s so excited to get another movie going! whatever profession you’re in, that’s what it’s all about. do what you love with people you love and everything else will work itself out organically.
as far as sustaining that inspiration, what works for me is variation. because I come from the indie film world, I’m used to wearing many different hats. I definitely consider myself a writer first, but I also produce and edit. on occasion, I’ll even grow a lumberjack beard and throw on a white suit! I think because I have my hand in a few different cookie jars, there’s always some creative outlet I can look forward to. also, I have been eating a ton of bok choy lately. has anyone else gone through a bok phase? seriously. green. goodness. green goodness? sweet goodness! oh doctor…I feel another method track coming on.
how long have you been playing guitar? because you’re more than a little awesome at it.
thanks! about fifteen years. I’ve played in a few bands, but we never really had another guitarist so I had to develop my own style—kind of a lead/rhythm hybrid. I play serious singer/songwritery type stuff (usually rock the viper room every few months), but I’ve always loved making up goofy, ridiculous songs, often times on the spot. so I guess I’m lucky that I get to do that for my job. if not for method, I would’ve been the crazy bearded guy playing weird songs in front of a pancake house. or flapjack cabin. whichever you prefer.
which proved more difficult—playing guitar while jumping on a trampoline or dancing with a small child on your shoulders?
there was a small child on my shoulders in that spot?!?!?!? that explains a lot. honestly, the dance party was the hardest part of the shoot. so much fun but definitely a wake up call to hit the gym! was not prepared for that much aerobic activity. I actually think it’s the next logical progression in workout fads. how many kid-ups can YOU do?
okay, shameless plug, do you have a favorite method product?
oh boy. love me some o’ that APC. it really is an awesome product. totally used it before I even knew anything about the company. super bonus that you guys are awesome and I get to help put your amazing product out there. but here’s a brain-buster for ya: what happens when you try to clean APC up with more APC? hmmm… and now that your mind has been blown, you may clean it up off of the floor with more APC. circle of method. boom.
