meet our newest employee of the month, the lovely karen hillebrandt, our creator of customer bliss (aka director of planning + fulfillment). what, another karen?! we know, but when they’re good, they’re good. and in this case, good is an understatement. because karen h. manages to make balancing customer service and supply chain needs look easy. and we all know it sure isn’t. we tip our hats to you.
karen, congratulations on being our newest employee of the month! were you surprised when your name was called?
I was blown away! there I was doing the drum roll with everyone else. I thought I heard it incorrectly.
well, you’re the second karen in a row to be named employee of the month. is that just a coincidence, or are all karens generally outstanding?
it could be in our DNA. we have three karens at method – so maybe it’ll be a trifecta!
you have a reputation as being a true team player. so much so that your Perk of Significance was $500 to do with whatever you like because everyone knew you’d want to be able to share it. so, what’s your plan?
the team will definitely get together for some offsite fun. the rest will be given out as Kiva gift certificates. Kiva is a micro lending portal – a fantastic way to help people around the world create sustainable ways of support towards a better future. it’s the gift that keeps on giving, so this award will go far!
gosh, that’s wonderful! since we know you’ll be sharing, what kind of goodies do you have in your Vault of Edible Riches?
there’s everything from hot wasabi peas to tootsie rolls and little Italian chocolates – love it! everyone is invited to partake of the riches. come on by!
besides the treats, what’s your favorite part about this honor?
it speaks volumes about the team – they are the ones who deserve the award for the fantastic work they do. I’m just the ringleader.
do you have any suggestions for the rest of us on what it takes to be chosen as employee of the month? you know, other than changing our names to karen.
being a karen obviously helps, but that’s quite a legal undertaking. I’d say just stick to method’s core values – care about the folks you work with and the work that you do, collaborate openly, kick ass fast (make it happen!) and don’t forget to have fun along the way!
well, there you have it. the secret sauce.
You’ve got to love the employee of the month recognition with all the elaborate royal costumes. Love the method humor!
