designed for good
posted September 22, 2011 by alexis |

we at method have always believed in design as a force for good. it’s why all of our products are made using safe and sustainable materials and manufactured responsibly. our limited edition DESIGNED FOR GOOD hand wash series uses eye-catching, thought provoking design stories to highlight this continuing commitment to caring for people and the planet.
our third installment in the DESIGNED FOR GOOD series celebrates our stance against animal testing. at method, we believe that guinea pigs should never be used as guinea pigs. that’s why we never test any of our products or ingredients on animals, never use animal by-products, and make products that are safe for cleaning up after your pets. our newest designed for good hand wash duo tells this story, and, we hope, helps raise awareness for the fair treatment of animals. as always, the naturally derived, biodegradable formulas are 100% vegan + cruelty-free.
these limited edition soaps will be available may through september at grocery stores nationwide in the US and Canada, on methodhome.com, and well.ca for $3.99 US / $4.99 CA.
our second DESIGNED FOR GOOD series supports the use of non-toxic ingredients. many people first seek out non-toxic cleaning and personal care products like method when they experience major life changes, like having a baby or experiencing an illness in their family.
one day soon, we hope that science will find a cure for breast cancer. in the meantime, we want to help in the best way we know how—by raising awareness and advocating for healthy lifestyles. in that spirit, method is supporting breast cancer awareness month by donating $10,000 to breast cancer research.
we’ve also designed two limited edition hand washes to coincide with these efforts. we hope that people will join us in showing their support for the search for a cure by “pinking your sink” with one of our limited edition soaps, part of our DESIGNED FOR GOOD series.
our first DESIGNED FOR GOOD series emphasizes the importance of recycled plastic. all of method’s hand wash bottles are made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR). so every bottle of method hand wash you buy keeps plastic out of our landfills and lessens the demand for virgin material. these particularly gorgeous 100% PCR bottles were designed by method’s own intrepid design star, Sally Clarke*, who has designed soap for method for the last four years.
while we can’t tell you what’s next for DESIGNED FOR GOOD, you can be sure it will delight your senses, be kind to the planet and leave your hands soft + clean. can’t wait? or curious about our other sustainability efforts? right this way, please.
*interesting tidbits about Sally: she’s a Kiwi and her favorite movie is ‘Pretty in Pink.’
