have you ever wanted to be a wish-granting genie? well, it’s always been a dream for some of us. and we recently had the privilege of working with one of the biggest wish-granting genies of them all.
who we helped: make-a-wish®, greater bay area
what they do: make-a-wish®, greater bay area, is a non-profit organization that fulfills the wishes of children between the ages of 2 ½ and 18 years old battling life-threatening medical conditions. (remember batkid? they made that happen.) the foundation’s goal for 2015 is to make 390 wishes come true—that’s more than one wish every day. while some wishes are more elaborate than others, each wish costs an average of $7,500. you can do the math, but we can tell you that’s a lot of money.
what we did: team method helped set up for the foundation’s annual wine-to-wishes fundraising event at sonoma-cutrer vineyards in windsor, ca. the event includes wine and food tastings and a silent auction in the afternoon, followed by a 400-person formal dinner and live auction in the evening. each year, the event is expected to raise about $600-$700,000, and the proceeds go towards funding children’s wishes.
