a spring break for your nose

as the director of scents + scentsibility here at method, I’m always looking outside our category for fragrance inspiration. I look at trends in fashion, food and what’s happening around the globe.
I had recently learned that The Fancy Food Show proclaimed the next big thing in citrus was going to be lime. so, as I began thinking about our next limited edition collection, it hit me. lime is the perfect spring and summer scent. it just needed a companion note to complement it. I continued my search in the food category, where cooking with a variety of salts is increasingly popular. and what goes better with lime than a little sea salt? with that, lime + sea salt was born.
well, the fragrance was born. the products took a few more months. but once they were here, it only seemed right to celebrate with a few cocktails that inspired the scent.
as I developed this fragrance and shared with our team, I repeatedly heard that it reminded people of the smell of a margarita enjoyed on the beach. which was precisely the signature cocktail of our launch party, fresh margaritas handcrafted by the method product development team. needless to say, it was a big hit. and we hope our new products are too.
